Dear Sunsations:

 

"Happy & Healthy New Year" to you and your loving families. I do not say prosperous because if you are happy and healthy, you are definitely prosperous. Well, you did an outstanding job for our first six months of our Mary Kay year (July 1 - Dec 31). As usual, we are in the top 50 for the Sapphire Division.

 

Up that totem pole you are soaring. I thank you for your pride and effort. You are all wonderful! You deserve to be where we are.

Thank you all for your lovely cards and beautiful Christmas gifts. They are warming effects for me. You are always in my thoughts - ALWAYS.

 

It is time again to sit down and reflect on our goals and re-evaluate. I have enclosed a goal sheet that I want you to read over and follow. If you want to send me back a copy, I will call you and be happy to help yo plan your future. That's what I'm here for, to help yo become successful in Mary Kay. So do send it back to me as soon as possible.

 

Just a few helpful hints from your director might help to start the New Year off right. BE A SELF STARTER. Get up a little earlier each day and you will have an extra day or two of work completed at the end of the week. Listen to motivational tapes and read sections of motivational books. "Listen to my Hot Success Tips" which change 3x a week. We all need these self helps to get us going at times. Make this your year. Our motto, "Make it Happen in 99" Make five contacts a day to grow. Run your own hostess contest monthly for glamour brushes or travel bags, etc. Start your portfolio. These are things I did as a Consultant and am doing now again as a Director. Watch your business grow if you do this.

 

Happiness will make all your dreams come true. Happiness does not come from doing easy work. It comes from the after flow of satisfaction that results from performing a difficult task that has demanded our best. Liking what we have to do brings happiness, not doing just what we like to do.

Much unhappiness comes from not liking ourselves. The wall of self-pity can be crumbled when we start living, finding ourselves and our positive attitudes, and learning not to feel sorry for ourselves. Helen Keller said, "Resolve to keep happy and your joy and you shall form an invincible host against difficulty. Happiness can not come from without. It must come from within."
